The Big Decision

As young adults, there is a big question that haunts (most of) us. Sometimes we just really dread it…. “Where are you going to school next year?”

Ouch. It’s hard, especially when we’re so overwhelmed by a feeling of fuzziness and lack of clarity.

As such, I’m incredibly glad to announce that I am finally able to answer this question!

But first of all, let’s look backwards for a second. At the very beginning of this blog, I was doing college applications and beginning that whole process. I still remember how much time I put into those applications.. sitting for hours on end at random coffee shops and writing as if my life depended on it.

But then, guess what? I put it all over into God’s hands, and set off on my adventure. However, now that I’m back in the motherland, I’ve had to face the college thing all over again. That was not a pretty couple weeks… I’m ashamed to say that I let worry get the best of me, and was not resting on my God. Problem…. (see last post for more on that one)

After a bit of a process, I had narrowed down my college options to two: Baylor and Pepperdine, and went for visits.

I’ll spare you the details, but I’ve finally come to a decision about next year, and amĀ so incredibly grateful for how God made it so clear.

Drum roll?

Starting this fall, I will be attending Pepperdine University; in the beautiful Malibu, California.

Can I just say how incredibly excited I am?? And God has made it SO clear. I really feel like it’s a good fit for me and that He has a lot in store for me there. (Not the least of which will be studying abroad in Argentina for a year; or at least that’s the tentative plan)

It is such a major answer to prayers to finally have made this decision. And it’s official too! I’ve gone through quite a journey to get to this point; including everything from denial to avoidance to frustration to excitement. But it was worth it, because now I can look back praising Him; and look forward expecting what He has in mind.

So here it is. I’m Pepperdine-bound, and giving it to Him the whole way. I’m expecting it to be quite a ride.. Let’s do this thing.
